Kevin O’Brien has 30 years of experience in the trustee and legal fields and specialises in Estate Planning.
Kevin is the principal of Landmark Legal and he and the legal team work very closely with their clients and other professional providers to provide the complete legal solution to your problems.
Kevin’s areas of interest and expertise come under the umbrella of Family Wealth Management and Estate Planning. A focus is on structuring for property investors and developers, Wills and Estate Planning, Trusts and SMSF, Estate Litigation and Administration with the over aching view to retain asset protection for the family assets and intergenerational wealth transfer in the most effective way.
Kevin works closely with accountants and financial planners to achieve client estate planning needs, as well as advising on how to best structure-property and business purchases along with all transactions involved around those strategies.

Shirley Driver – Solicitor, Family Law
Shirley qualified as a barrister in the UK in 1993 and went on to enjoy a stimulating career as a prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service based in central London. Shirley managed a heavy and varied caseload covering all areas of crime including kidnapping, rape, gang robberies, fraud, human trafficking, and child abuse. The opportunity to work for the Office of the Department of Public Prosecutions in Sydney for a year led ultimately to a permanent move to Australia for Shirley and her family in 2011.
Shirley has qualified as a solicitor in New South Wales and chosen to focus on the area of family law, whilst maintaining interest and skills in criminal matters. Shirley enjoys finding practical, cost-effective solutions for her clients when trying to resolve disputes as to property settlement and the care of children following the breakdown of relationships. Shirley is an effective communicator and likes to establish a good working relationship with her clients. She understands that a family breakdown can be extremely stressful and upsetting for all concerned. For that reason, Shirley aims to offer a service that is fast, efficient, and affordable.

Suzannah is Landmark’s Senior Property Solicitor. Admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2003, Suzannah has joined the rapidly expanding Landmark Team to lead the Property Law division and work her way into Wills and Estate planning alongside Kevin.
Suzannah has jumped in with both feet to act on complex property matters to ensure smooth and comprehensive transactions for buyers and sellers all over Australia. She also has extensive experience in Wills, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration.
A country girl at heart, Suzannah’s friendly, caring, and well-mannered nature is evident in every interaction.
Rebecca Paule-font – Solicitor, Commercial Law
Pianist, travel agent, public servant, and now a lawyer.
Bec obtained a Juris Doctor and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practise from the University of Newcastle in 2018. Admitted to the Supreme Court in 2019, Bec has accumulated extensive experience working in Commercial, employment, family, traffic, and criminal law matters. Most recently, she has been involved in civil dispute resolution and investigations. Bec joined the Landmark legal team in 2020, working primarily in the commercial litigation space.
Bec prides herself on her ability to connect with valued clients and approaches each case with the utmost respect, transparency, and professionalism.
Carla Warren – Legal Clerk
Carla has worked with and for Kevin since 2012 in providing legal and conveyancing services to clients. Carla’s extensive experience in all areas of conveyancing and general legal services allows her to provide excellent client service results in a timely and professional manner.
Aside from Office Management and Conveyancing, Carla also assists with Commercial leasing and general Estate Management matters. She provides ongoing support to our team and is always willing to share her knowledge and experience to carry the team along.

Karen Thomas – Conveyancing Manager
Karen is our knowledgeable and efficient Conveyancing Manager. With over 15 years of experience in Mortgage Processing and Financial Property transactions for one of Australia’s largest banks, she is highly equipped to support our New South Wales settlements. With Karen’s financial experience, she is a valuable asset for our all of our financial settlements and can ensure timely and stress-free transactions.
Karen began her career advancement with us as a Conveyancing Clerk in the early months of 2021, she has now progressed to our Conveyancing Manager for all of our New South Wales property transactions from Exchange to Settlement using PEXA.
We look forward to supporting Karen’s growth, within her career and personally.
Sophie Schumacher – Legal Administration Officer
Sophie provides invaluable support to the firm, the team, and our clients, from Reception, Administration, Conveyancing, and a touch on Estate Administration, she is willing and ready to assist on a series of the firm’s matters.
Sophie is a positive and well-spoken individual and will be the first to greet you on the phone or when you walk through our doors. She is outgoing and sociable, with the ability to make you feel comfortable and welcomed.
After completing her HSC in 2018, Sophie went on to work as Business Administrator and then as an Executive Assistant for a family-owned business. She is now working on her career development in the legal industry as she ventures further into Conveyancing and Property Law, particularly for Queensland transactions here at Landmark Legal.
Sophie values education and is eager to expand her legal knowledge in all areas of law so that she may continue to provide thorough and accurate support to Landmark Legal’s clientele.
Claire Barry – Legal Administrator
Claire is the newest Legal Administrator at Landmark Legal and provides outstanding support to Shirley and Rebecca in Family and Commercial Law.
Most recently, Claire has completed her first year of a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the University of Newcastle. She is now partway through her second year and is combining her education with the practical experience provided here at Landmark Legal. She has a growing passion for the Law and is eager to experience all sectors of the legal industry.
Claire is heavily supported by our firm as she journeys through Law school. She proves to be a dedicated and hard-working individual as she makes way for new opportunities.
